The Therrell Co.,Inc. is a small family operated home builder located in Pineville, North Carolina. We have been building homes in the Charlotte area for over 30 years. Most of our homes can be found in the area that surrounds Lake Wylie in the southwestern part of Mecklenburg County. They can be found in River Pointe, Royal Oaks, and River Hills. Over the years we have also become active members of the Steele Creek community. Being residents as well as a recognized builder, we find that most of our business comes by word of mouth.
Our history spans three generations which started with my grandfather. Shortly after serving in World War II, my grandfather entered the building trade as a carpenter. Many of the homes he worked in are handcrafted homes located in the Myers Park section of Charlotte. Much time and effort was put into hand tooling every part of these homes, from hand cut lumber to hand made doors and mouldings. Because of this, special care was taken to insure that things were done right the first time. This is a value we still carry on today as my father and I continue to build quality homes.
My father built his first custom home almost 30 years ago. As a young boy, I remember traveling with him to job sites. I remember how exciting it was watching bricks and lumber being put together to create a beautiful home. I still enjoy that same satisfaction today as I build homes alongside my father. Having been around construction all my life, it was only natural for me to follow the path laid before me by my father and his father before him. Wanting to take home building to the next level, I studied architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture, I joined my father in building custom homes. You can image the feeling I get watching a house being built from the ground up, but this feeling is even more gratifying when I can take homeowners' ideas, turn them to drawings, then watch their excitement grow as their dream home becomes a reality.
It is our goal to build a high quality home, no matter what the size or pricerange of the house. In order to do this, we strive to do things right the first time, even if it takes a little longer.
