About Us:
My roots in home design span three generations which started with my grandfather. Shortly after serving in World War II, may grandfather entered the building trade as a carpenter. Many of the homes he worked in are handcrafted homes located in the Myers Park section of Charlotte. Much time and effort was put into hand tooling every part of these homes, from hand cut lumber to hand made doors and mouldings. Because of this, special care was taken to insure that things were done right the first time. This is a value we still carry on today as my father and I continue to build quality homes.
My father built his first custom home almost 30 years ago. As a young boy, I remember traveling with him to job sites. I remember how exciting it was watching the different materials being put together to create a beautiful home. I still enjoy that same satisfaction today as I build homes alongside my father. Having been around construction all my life, it was only natural for me to follow the path laid before me by my father and his father before him. Wanting to take home building to the next level, I studied architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture, I joined my father in building custom homes.
It was my goal to take home building one step further. Occasionally, prospective home owners have asked if they could look at some of our plans. They often told of how they looked through dozens of magazines and just could not find what they wanted. To answer this need, I began offering my design services to them. I spend some time with each home owner to determine what their needs are and what type of home they desire. It is satisfying to able to work with homeowners from beginning to end during design and construction, building the home of their dreams.
